Sigrun is spending the fall on a sabbatical in Konstanz in Germany providing a unique opportunity to learn about German sociology and society. This episode features Sebastian Koos, assistant professor of corporate social responsibility at the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz. His research are in the area of economic sociology, for example with a focus on corporate social responsibility, sustainable and moral consumption, and the moral economy of capitalism. His most recent research has focused on one of the great challenges of our times, the climate crisis, and he has particularly looked at the role of Greta Thunberg and climate strikes among the young generation. Sebastian has looked at this through surveys of students in Germany and Switzerland as well as collecting data during the strikes themselves. The goal is among other things to participate in public debates and policymaking regarding the threat that most scientists agree that we are facing.
