This week’s podcast features Valerio Bacak, assistant professor of criminal justice at Rutgers University in the U.S. Sigrun met up with Valerio in Hamburg where he is currently staying on a sabbatical. His research are at the intersection of criminology and medical sociology. He has particularly looked at the impact of imprisonment on health, as well as whether police contact impacts the health of Europeans. He discusses his research with Sigrun as well as growing up in Croatia in the 90s and leaving there to pursue graduate studies in the U.K. and the U.S.
