This podcast features Tim Bartley, Professor of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis in the United States. His reasearch are in the area of economic sociology, social movements, sociology of work, inequality and social policy. He recently published the book, Rules without Rights: Land, Labor, and Private Authority in the Global Economy with Oxford University Press. There, he focuses on global regulations regarding sustainable forestry and fair labor standards in China and Indonesia. He tells Sigrun about his fieldwork there as well as other research that he has engaged in for the past decades.
