This week´s podcast feat­ures Nadine Reibling who is the PI of a large res­e­arch project about med­icalization at the Uni­versity of Siegen in Germany. Nadine comp­leted her Ph.D. in soci­ology at the Uni­versity of Mann­heim in 2014, but Sigrun was a mem­ber of her diss­erta­tion committee. During her stu­dies there, Nadine was a Hark­ness Fellow in Healt­hcare Policy and Pract­ice at Harvard Uni­versity, and she assu­med her position at the Uni­versity of Sigen after comp­let­ing her stu­dies. Her res­e­arch has focused on health care systems and health inequ­alities, as well as med­icalization. In the podcast, Nadine and Sigrun discuss her res­e­arch in gener­al, but also attempt to answer the difficult question of how the health care system matt­ers for our health and especi­ally for health inequ­alities.
